For more than 20 years, the automotive industry has been pushing towards electric power, beginning with hybrids and evolving into three types of electric-powered vehicles, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and battery electric. Battery electric vehicles are the ones that are completely void of any gasoline, running solely on electric motors powered by a rechargeable battery. While all-electric vehicles have long seemed like a thing of the future, the future is now with more EVs being produced each model year. Ram is joining that trend with the first-ever 2025 Ram 1500 REV! While offering drivers the style and dependability that the Ram 1500 is known for, the REV adds electric power to eliminate emissions and enhance capability. Power and Capability of the Ram 1500 REV
Ram is aiming to outperform all other fully electric trucks in all categories that matter most with the REV. Powering the Ram 1500 REV are two electric drive modules, often referred to as EDMs. One of the 250-kilowatt (kW) EDM is found on the front axle powering the front wheels, while the other is on the rear axle, powering the rear wheels. The EDMs are powered by a 168-kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery pack. This battery is set to provide a driving range of up to 350 miles on a full charge. However, the REV will also be available with a 229-kWh battery pack, increasing the driving range to up to 500 miles. Ram has stated that, when using an 800-volt Level 3 EV charger, the REV can get up to 110 miles of charge in approximately ten minutes. Ram estimates that the Ram 1500 REV's powertrain will achieve 654 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque. Ram stated that this power targets a 2,700-pound payload capacity, 14,000 pounds of towing capacity, and a 0-60 time of just 4.4 seconds. When creating the Ram 1500 REV, designers wanted to provide drivers with class-leading ride quality and handling. To do this, the suspension system includes four-corner air shocks with active leveling and adaptive damping and a multi-link independent rear suspension. The air shocks provide drivers with adjustable ride height settings. Drivers can select Aero, Enter/Exit, Off-Road 1, and Off-Road 2 height settings using an in-cabin control.Â
Exterior Features for the 2025 Ram 1500 REV
The Ram 1500 REV brings years of Ram 1500 design development together with modern, electric vehicle design. Looking at the REV's overall shape, you'll find it to be reminiscent of the Ram 1500's current form. However, taking a closer look at the aspects that bring together the overall design, you'll find distinct differences. The most noticeable difference is the updated 'RAM' emblem on the grille. It is reshaped and illuminated by an LED outline. On either side of the grille, you'll see reshaped headlight housings with 'tuning-fork' LED daytime running light strips and LED headlights. Since there is no internal combustion engine, Ram gave the REV an additional storage compartment under the hood, which the EV community calls a frunk, short for front trunk. The frunk is easily accessible with a power-release function. The frunk gives drivers an additional fifteen cubic feet of cargo storage and uses a durable all-weather lining. The available RamBox external cargo bin found over the driver's-side rear wheel provides additional storage. The RamBox serves many purposes and can be used as extra storage, a toolbox, and even a cooler. Looking at the Ram 1500 REV from the rear, you'll find reshaped LED taillights on either side of the updated 'RAM' emblem. Ram's multi-function tailgate with a 60/40 split is available, allowing you to swing the tailgate open to provide safe access to the bed when a trailer is attached.Â
2025 Ram 1500 REV Interior Design
Much like the exterior, it reminds occupants of the current Ram 1500 while bringing along a modern feel. Ram achieved this balance with a welcoming cabin with modern and premium materials accompanying advanced technologies. As standard equipment, the Ram 1500 REV features a 12-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment touchscreen, like the one found in the current Ram 1500 Limited. The REV also features a 12-inch fully digital gauge cluster behind the steering wheel. The REV uses premium materials like leather, carbon fiber, and metal to give drivers a luxurious feel while providing the toughness we've come to expect from a Ram truck. While the Ram 1500 REV lineup will include the Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, and Limited, Ram is introducing a new trim, named Tungsten. The all-new Tungsten trim level adds even more luxury on top of the Limited trim. The center stack is occupied by Ram's largest-ever 14.5-inch touchscreen. It also immerses occupants in rich sound with a Klimsch Reference Premier 23-speaker sound system. The front passenger has access to vehicle cameras, navigation, entertainment, and more with a 10.25-inch touchscreen on the dash. The Tungsten trim also features impressive seating with 24-way power-adjustable, massaging, heated, and cooled front seats with five memory settings.
